Governance & Funding

AVCA is a NZ registered Charitable Trust Board

(Charities Commission Registration #: CC553899)

We began as a grassroots community advocacy group, fully supported by our volunteers who run the entire charity, from administration to community outreach.  We are not funded by anything more than community donations at this point in time, however as we grow our programs and outreach we will seek outside funding through the NZ Lottery Fund and CommunityNet Aotearoa.

Our financial statement for the year ending 31 March 17 is found here.

AVCA is administered by a Board Of Trustees, who oversee the operation of the charity and make decisions regarding the overall focus of the organisation.

Our Current Operational Funding, as stated above comes from koha/ donations from community members, social events we sponsor, and educational seminars that we run.

AVCA is truly a grassroots organization and our success depends completely on community involvement and support.  If you currently use smokeless alternatives to combustible tobacco, our goal is to ensure that these reduced harm alternatives become and remain available, affordable and effective.

Funding is utilised solely for the running of the charity, there are no salaries paid (all board members are volunteers) so all the money donated goes back into the community via our advocacy and outreach programs in the community.

Please consider making a one-time donation or set up an automatic monthly donation to help us help you.

AVCA is a charitable trust board meaning we are a non-profit organization.   Contributions to AVCA can be receipted (upon request) for tax purposes.
